American actor Alec Baldwin has filed a lawsuit against several members of the set of the movie 'Rust' on the set of which he accidentally shot director of photography Halyna Hutchins in 2021, a dramatic incident that shocked Hollywood.

According to a court document dated Friday, the 64-year-old performer is taking legal action against weapons specialist Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, David Halls assistant director Sarah Zachry, as well as assistant gunsmith Seth Kenney.

"This tragedy occurred because live ammunition was delivered to the set and loaded into the gun, (Hannah) Gutierrez-Reed did not check the gun carefully, but still announced that it was safe before passing it to (Alec) Baldwin," he details. The lawsuit filed in a Los Angeles court. The actor also accuses Sarah Zachry of failing to disclose that the gunsmith had "behaved irresponsibly off set and that he posed a risk."

On October 21, 2021, the shooting of "Rust" on a ranch in Santa Fe (New Mexico) was involved in the tragedy when Baldwin shot 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins.

She believed that she did it with blank bullets but they turned out to be real.

This lawsuit by Alec Baldwin comes amid others filed by screenwriter Mamie Mitchell against other members of the team, including the actor, whom she accuses of not following safety procedures.

In October, the actor reached an agreement with Halyna Hutchins' family that will allow the film to continue filming and the lawsuit against him to be dropped.

In return,

Matthew Hutchins

, the deceased's widower, will executive produce the film and receive a share of the profits.
