In Spain, the route towards decarbonization materializes in the approval of Royal Decree 6/2022, which eliminates administrative obstacles with the aim of speeding up the development of renewable energy projects.

In addition, the Government will dedicate 40% of the 150 million euros received from the Next Generation EU Funds;

that is, 4 out of every 10 euros, to projects related to the ecological transition: decarbonisation, energy efficiency, the deployment of renewable energies, the electrification of transport, the development of energy storage and the circular economy.

get net zero

In this new path towards decarbonization, companies must speak up and act responsibly, and even more so if they operate in the energy market.

A clear example is Shell Energy - a division of the Shell Group that is currently present in 6 European countries - and which is focusing its activities on the development of fully integrated low-carbon energy solutions that help its customers and themselves to meet the objectives of decarbonization and zero net emissions.

"Our responsibility extends beyond what we can do in strict terms of our own activity; we not only want to achieve net zero in all our operations, but also contribute to accelerating the energy transition in the markets in which we operate, sector by sector. ", They assure from the operator.

clean energy solutions

Shell Energy wants to become a leading player towards progress and is based on the "Powering progress" plan that makes this commitment tangible in concrete actions to transform the business and provide more energy solutions.

Some solutions that must be cleaner such as electricity from solar and wind energy, and others such as hydrogen and biofuels.

The challenge?

Contribute with zero net emissions to the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

It works to be a company with zero net emissions in 2050. To do this, the company is convinced that it is necessary to work hand in hand with society.

In other words, the operator is aware that it must understand the new energy needs in order to diversify the solutions it offers.

As one of the world's largest integrated energy companies, you must also lead by example through your actions and encourage others along the way.

"Collaboration with the different organizations, authorities and companies is key to achieving the decarbonisation objectives together," they point out.

This is therefore a necessary change in mindset to ensure that the transition to net zero is carried out in a sustainable way that leaves no one behind.

Shell Energy's role is therefore to achieve its own sustainability goals, but at the same time help its clients decarbonize their industries, businesses and communities through a portfolio of integrated solutions encompassing electricity, natural gas and renewable energy solutions.

In other words, the time has come to bet on 100% green electricity, CPPAs, offset natural gas and photovoltaic solar energy.

Businesses must be sustainable...or they won't be.

Finally, another of the energy operator's great challenges is to promote the transformation of the entire value chain by building an interconnected energy business.

This is transformed into a model through which energy is produced, purchased, traded, stored and supplied directly to customers.
