The United States does not intend to directly enter into a conflict in Ukraine and thus unleash a third world war.

This was stated by the President of the United States Joe Biden, answering questions from journalists at the White House.

“There are many things that Ukraine wants, but which we have not provided.

For example, I was often asked if we would provide American aircraft to provide (closed. -

) the sky over Ukraine.

I answered: “No, we are not going to do that.

We don’t want to get a third world attack by attacking Russian planes and entering into a direct collision, ”Biden said.

Another example of this approach, Biden called the supply of MLRS HIMARS.

According to him, Washington did not send long-range projectiles to Kyiv to these installations.

“We provide them with HIMARS.

In simple terms, there are two types of missiles suitable for these complexes: a range of more than 600 miles (965 km. -

) and a range of about 160 miles (257 km. -

).

Those with a range of 600 miles, we did not give them, because I do not want them to start bombing the territory of Russia, ”said the American president.

At the same time, he stressed that the United States will provide Ukraine with "rational opportunities so that they can defend themselves."

Biden also said that he expects Washington's continued support for Kyiv.

So he answered the question of whether American assistance to Ukraine would be extended against the background of statements by representatives of the Republican Party about a possible revision of US policy on this issue.

Recall that in the United States on November 8, midterm congressional elections were held, during which the entire House of Representatives and a third of the Senate were elected.

The counting of votes is not over yet, however, according to media reports, Republicans can get a majority in the lower house.

“I would be surprised if among the Republican colleagues of the leader (minority in the House of Representatives. -

) McCarthy, the majority are really those who say that they are not going to finance the legitimate defense needs of Ukraine,” Biden concluded.

irrefutable evidence

According to analysts, despite Biden's words about the unwillingness to "engage in a direct confrontation," the United States is already heavily involved in the conflict in Ukraine and is actually waging a proxy war against Russia.

This, in particular, is evidenced by the unprecedented amount of military support that Washington provides to Kyiv.

Thus, on November 4, the US Department of Defense announced the allocation of a new $400 million military assistance package to Ukraine. It includes 1.1 thousand Phoenix Ghost kamikaze drones, 40 river armored boats, 45 T-72 tanks, as well as funds for the modernization of 250 M1117 armored personnel carriers and HAWK air defense systems.

In addition, on November 8, the Pentagon confirmed the transfer to Kyiv of two NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems, which, as noted by the US defense department, are already using the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In total, under the Joe Biden administration, the United States has sent $18.9 billion worth of military aid to Ukraine, including $18.2 billion since the start of the Russian special operation in February 2022.

The Pentagon website has published a complete list of military equipment delivered to Kyiv.

It, among other things, includes 1.4 thousand Stinger man-portable air defense systems, 8.5 thousand Javelin anti-tank missile systems and 38 thousand other similar systems, 700 Switchblade loitering ammunition, 142 155 mm howitzers and more than 900 thousand guns. shells for them (including 3.5 thousand high-precision guided munitions), 36 howitzers of 105 mm caliber and 180 thousand shells for them.

In addition, Washington sent Kyiv 200 M113 armored personnel carriers, hundreds of HMMWV armored vehicles, 20 Mi-17 helicopters, 1.5 thousand TOW anti-tank missiles, 10 thousand small arms and grenade launchers, as well as UAVs of various classes, radars, personal protective equipment and other military products.

In addition, the United States is actively sharing intelligence information with Ukraine, including data from satellites.

At the same time, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Washington uses both military and civilian spacecraft for these purposes.

Washington is also involved in coordinating targets for Kyiv's strikes with the help of the HIMARS MLRS, which Vadim Skibitsky, a spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, admitted in an interview with the British The Telegraph.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, such statements by Kyiv indicate that Washington is directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine.

“All this irrefutably proves that Washington, contrary to the statements of the White House and the Pentagon, is directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine.

It is the Biden administration that is directly responsible for all rocket attacks approved by Kyiv on residential areas and civilian infrastructure facilities in the settlements of Donbass and other regions, which led to the mass death of civilians, ”said Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry on August 2.

"The conflict must blaze"

From the point of view of political scientist Alexander Asafov, Biden's assurances that the United States has certain borders beyond which it will not go in Ukraine are intended primarily to reassure American citizens.

“Of course, the supply of weapons, instructors and mercenaries, the provision of intelligence - all this suggests that the United States is a party to the conflict.

For example, target determination using satellites and reconnaissance - what is it if not participation?

Therefore, Biden is forced to explain to his voters that America did not launch another campaign, did not drag itself into a conflict outside its borders for the sake of some vague goals.

Such rhetoric is designed to reduce tension in American society, ”Asafov explained in an interview with RT.

Military expert Ivan Konovalov believes that the United States is largely trying to disguise its support for Ukraine under the collective actions of the West.

“The US is directly involved in the conflict.

But for this they use the NATO umbrella, which allows them to present the situation to them in such a way that Ukraine is supposedly supported not so much by Washington as by an international coalition of countries, “the whole free world,” Konovalov explained in an interview with RT.

In his opinion, Washington's military support for Kyiv will continue regardless of the internal political alignment in the United States, which will be established after the congressional elections.

“For all the contradictions, Republicans and Democrats still reached a consensus on the Russophobic position of the United States.

The only thing that the Republicans have questions about the supplies themselves: they want to reduce them, or at least not increase them.

Some Republicans, however, say that assistance to Kyiv should be curtailed, but this is most likely due to PR.

Democrats and Republicans agree that this conflict should blaze to the last, weakening Russia,” Konovalov said.

At the same time, the analyst does not rule out that in the future the US position on Ukraine may change if the topic of Ukraine becomes burdensome for Washington.

“The story of the withdrawal from Afghanistan suggests that when the US realizes that it is better to cut the rope, they always do it.

This was in Vietnam and Afghanistan, with all the huge financial and other losses.

Therefore, Kyiv should not hope that in his case it will be somehow different.

The Americans will leave when they realize that further involvement in the conflict is useless.

Sooner or later, this moment will come, ”concluded Konovalov.
