When Pénélope, Mathilde's daughter, is diagnosed at the age of 6 months with a genetic disease that leads to intellectual and motor retardation, it is the beginning of tensions within the parental couple.

Mathilde's companion, Kyriakos, who is originally from Greece, cannot accept that her child has a disability and refuses any medical check-up.

Her denial forces Mathilde to seek custody of Penelope.

In retaliation, Kyriakos kidnaps Penelope and stops giving news to Mathilde/and faints in nature.
