The Prosecutor's Office has demanded that the Interior send it the full images of the jump over the Melilla fence that last June ended with at least 23 dead immigrants.

The request for more information comes after recordings have surfaced in recent days that the Public Ministry did not have.

The Immigration Court Prosecutor, Beatriz Sánchez, directly took on the investigation into what happened and collected the information provided by the Interior.

That investigation should conclude either with its referral to a court when evidence of crime was detected, or with the file when estimating that they have not been found.

Before adopting that decision, the Prosecutor's Office wants to review images such as those disclosed in recent days.

From the Ministry of the Interior, it is maintained that all the relevant material for the investigation was already sent to the Public Ministry.

Parallel to the investigation by the Prosecutor's Office and the political repercussions of the matter, the Ombudsman issued a preliminary report a month ago critical of the actions of the Spanish Security Forces.

The document warned that he did not know his action was over "and has requested the Secretary of State for Security to send more images from June 24 of the border perimeter that could help clarify some extremes."
