During the corona pandemic, it was discovered that the range of support for parents at the family centers in the county varied greatly.

During that period, in some places no parental support was offered at all, while the support varied greatly in others.

- We had to do a review to be able to offer equivalent support across the entire county, says Martina Larsson who is coordinator for the family centers in Region Jönköping County.

New course

Now a year and a half later, there is a new ten-session course aimed at all parents who are expecting a child.

The course starts when the baby is in the womb in week 23 and lasts until the baby is 2 and a half years old.

This means that seven course sessions focus on the child's and parents' first time together.

During the analysis work, the region contacted approximately 200 parents and what the majority requested were the opportunities to reflect on their parenting.
