All 30 NATO members must give the green light for Sweden and Finland to be admitted to the defense alliance.

Turkey and Hungary are the only countries that have not yet said yes.

The goal is to approve the two countries' application for NATO membership before the Hungarian parliament closes for the year, according to Gergely Gulyas.

This means that a vote is expected to take place on December 7 at the latest.

- For us, the Finns and Swedes are allies, and just as we can count on our allies, they can count on us, says Gulyas.

The Hungarian government has previously said that it has submitted the ratification documents to parliament and that it expects a yes.

Gergely Gulyas states that the parliament must, among other things, have time for a vote on new anti-corruption laws before a vote on the NATO question can be scheduled.
