“I think the fact that Twitter will now be taken over by someone who wants to use the social network even more for political purposes is very problematic,” he said, TASS quoted the politician as saying.
He added that "if diversity of opinion continues to be attacked, the authorities will need to take consistent action."
United States President Joe Biden has previously been critical of entrepreneur Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter.
The head of the White House said that now the social network is spewing lies all over the world.
Biden's remark came after Musk announced his intention to make Twitter the most accurate source of information in the world.
