Sisi calls for a road map to protect the world from climate change

Today, Sunday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called for the development of a road map to protect the world from the effects of climate change.

In a post on his Facebook page today, Sisi said, "With pride, honor and responsibility, I look forward to the opening of the activities of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention in Sharm El-Sheikh, COP27 Framework on Climate Change."

He added, "The current session of the Climate Summit comes at a very sensitive time, in which our world is exposed to existential threats and unprecedented challenges, affecting the very survival of our planet and our ability to live on it."

He continued, "There is no doubt that these dangers and challenges require swift action by all countries to develop a road map to rescue, protecting the world from the effects of climate change."

Al-Sisi pointed out that "Egypt is looking forward to the conference exiting from the stage of promises to the stage of implementation with concrete measures on the ground, building on the foregoing, especially the outcomes of the Glasgow Summit and the Paris Agreement."
