Al-Sudani takes charge of the Iraqi intelligence service

The Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, decided today, Sunday, to take over the administration of the intelligence service at the current stage.

During his visit today to the headquarters of the Iraqi intelligence service, Al-Sudani affirmed support for "the national role of the intelligence service, as a national security institution that undertakes a great and honorable mission to serve the country."

He stressed the importance of the agency maintaining its work course in accordance with the competence decreed for it in accordance with the constitution, the internal work charter of the agency and the laws in force in this field, and that the implementation and distribution of tasks in accordance with the standards of true citizenship, efficiency and pillars of integrity at work and the higher national and security interests of the country.

Al-Sudani had decided to remove the head of the Iraqi intelligence service, Raed Jouhi, from his post.
