Sheikh of Al-Azhar: The Human Fraternity Document as a Model for Building for Peace and Tolerance

Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, stressed that the historical document of human brotherhood that was launched from Abu Dhabi in 2019, has become a model and an approach that represents a basis for building for peace, harmony, mutual respect and tolerance among people.

This came during the meeting of the Sheikh of Al-Azhar today, in Manama, with Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church, as part of their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain and participation in the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue "East and West for Human Coexistence".

The Sheikh of Al-Azhar expressed his appreciation for his brother Pope Francis, and to meet again within the framework of fraternal relations between them, and their efforts together to establish and establish the values ​​of peace, coexistence and acceptance of the other.

For his part, Pope Francis welcomed the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of Al-Azhar and the Muslim Council of Elders in supporting and encouraging dialogue between followers of religions, spreading the culture of human brotherhood and promoting world peace, stressing the importance of the solidarity of religious leaders and leaders for the good of humanity and raising the voice of religion for the service of humanity. He stressed the importance of dialogue in ending wars and conflicts and limiting the spread of racism and hatred.
