In addition, Secretary Austin said that any use of nuclear weapons against the United States or its allies could not be tolerated, and that a nuclear attack would bring the end of the Kim Jong-un regime.



At a press conference after the meeting, Secretary of Defense Austin said, "It is very disappointing that North Korea launched an illegal and regionally destabilizing intercontinental ballistic missile last night and chose to launch more missiles today. We will continue to work closely together to expand the options for protecting the United States," he said, indicating that he would further strengthen cooperation through the extended period of large-scale joint exercises between the U.S. and South Korean Air Forces.
