A pediatrician confirmed that wearing masks among students in the classroom is very important, in light of the spread of influenza infection, to reduce students' infection with it, and their having to go to emergency departments that are crowded with children and students who are sick with symptoms.

The parents of students, Adham Abu Al-Laith, Hanan Al-Samadi, Raed Ayari, and Dalia Al-Amin, indicated that with the spread of influenza among the students, and a number of them were absent from school seats, and due to the weak immunity of their children, they decided to compel them to wear masks inside classrooms, laboratories and closed places, to limit of infection and pass it on to the rest of the family.

They added that they took the advice of the students’ families on “WhatsApp” groups about the importance of students wearing masks, as it reduces the rate of infection, and limits going to emergency departments in case of infection, noting that any student who becomes infected with the infection, his mother publishes this on “WhatsApp”, To educate the rest of the students’ families to take the necessary health precautions and measures for their children in the classroom.

They pointed out that wearing masks for their children in classrooms and laboratories is temporary until the spread of infection among students decreases, as most doctors and specialists confirmed that influenza is accompanied by severe headaches, high fever for several days, and a cold, and that those infected with it must immediately go to the emergency and doctors specialists, to take the necessary treatment in a timely manner.

The administrations of private schools reported that they had monitored the absence of a number of students as a result of being infected with the flu, and that they had sensitized the students' families to the importance of not bringing their children who suffer from flu symptoms, or who have children of people of determination, or those who suffer from weak immunity, to maintain their safety and health.

She explained that the return to wearing masks is a personal matter for students, and optional, but she advises it to avoid transmission of influenza infection to them from their colleagues who suffer from its symptoms, and she continued that she coordinated with the Nursing Department to monitor the health status of students, and contact the families of any student who has a high temperature, or suffers from coughing or vomiting, Until he is taken to the hospital for treatment.

She added that it will repeat the tests for absent students, and it will coordinate with teachers to re-explain the study materials, and send worksheets to all students to review the lessons they missed during their absence, and it will work to guide students on the importance of eating healthy meals and vitamins, to strengthen their immunity, and maintain their health from infectious diseases.

And the pediatrician at Ajman Specialized Hospital, Dr. Tariq Al-Salama, said that any student sitting next to him, another student with influenza, must wear masks, to avoid transmission of infection to him, or contracting respiratory infections if the infection is severe, and he added that the classroom has 30 students, With an area of ​​no more than six by five meters, the distance between students is small, and the chance of infection transmission between them is high, especially since ventilation is limited to air conditioning.

He added that wearing masks is temporary for all infected and uninfected students, in order to protect them from contracting the flu or transmitting the infection to them from others, and that students with it must be absent from school until they are treated and recovered from it.
