"I will be present to accompany her, but I will know how to stay in my place. I adore my daughter, and my biggest dream is for her to succeed in the profession", explains the famous cook in the hat about the young woman of 25 years.

"I especially hope that Élise will put all her heart into this establishment, which I am so proud to pass on to her and that she will be as happy as I have been with the customers", continues Mr. Veyrat, 72 years old, who is now turning to other projects.

Marc Veyrat lost a summary trial against the Michelin Guide at the end of 2019 following the downgrading of the Manigod restaurant from three to two stars.

He had appealed this decision before changing his mind a few months later, but remains indignant at the Guide's decision.

"Don't talk to me about stars anymore. Never," he declared at Dauphiné, calling the culinary guide "has been" and claiming to say aloud "what others think quietly".

The chef is now preparing to open a new restaurant, "Shuss by Marc Veyrat" near the slopes in the upscale resort of Megève, which is scheduled to open in mid-December.
