The extension of the contracts of former navigators is not technically possible.
This was stated in a note by the Ministry of Labor.
“In relation to the press reports circulated in these hours relating to the extension of the former navigators, which expired on October 31st - reads the press release - it is specified that these contracts cannot be extended.
On the subject and in the context of coordination activities, a mere reconnaissance activity was launched between the Regions.
Any further use of the former navigators would require the approval of a specific rule, not being studied by the Ministry ".
In recent days, rumors had spread about a further extension of the contracts of the navigators, which expired on October 31, figures born together with the citizenship income.
The hypothesis on the table was to extend the contracts by another two months.
Precisely on the question of the placement of about 1500 navigators, (538 with collaborations terminated between May and August and 958 expired on October 31st), the unions had asked for a meeting with the Minister of Labor, Marina Calderone, the day after she took office.
Some regions, such as Sicily, had already decided to postpone the expiration of contracts to 31 December.
