Aboul Gheit: There are Arab countries under threat from non-Arab parties

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stressed, during his speech at the 31st Arab Summit in Algeria, that the Arab region is facing a food security crisis.

He stressed that Arab countries need "a unified strategy to deal with crises through a collective approach that is being developed."

He also stressed that the food security strategy presented at the summit is an example of what Arab countries can do to confront crises.

He explained that several Arab countries are subject to threats from non-Arab parties, in addition to terrorist threats and militias.

"The Houthis continue to evade, and we continue to support the legitimate government and the Yemeni people to confront their crises," he added.

He pointed out that the Israeli escalation in the Palestinian territories "harkens what is worse, amid dubious international silence."
