- The art exhibition "Discover Al Jazeera" will be launched on Tuesday evening at the Fire Station Gallery - Artists' Residence in Doha, coinciding with Al Jazeera Media Network's celebration of the 26th anniversary of its founding.

The exhibition aims to show the message that Al Jazeera network has succeeded in conveying to the world, and to confirm that it has not only been able to change the view of others on the Arab world, but also change the Arab world itself, through professional performance and keenness to communicate the opinion and the other opinion.

Nora Al-Hadfi, Executive Officer of Public Relations Department at Al Jazeera Network, said that the exhibition is the first of its kind organized by Al Jazeera Network in its celebrations of the anniversary of its founding, and today coincides with the celebration of Al Jazeera Day on the 26th anniversary of its establishment.

She added - in a statement to Al Jazeera Net - that the exhibition sheds light on the network's developments and achievements since its inception when it was a single television channel, until it developed and became a well-established media network comprising 5 TV channels and a number of digital channels. .

Al-Hadfi indicated that the exhibition highlights the human stories and the martyrs of the island who gave their lives to the Voice of Truth, in compliance with the values ​​of professional journalism despite the challenges and difficulties they faced during their practical journey with the channel.

And she added that the exhibition also focuses on news coverage, investigative investigations and documentaries that have won international awards, pointing out that the exhibition opens its doors to the public from November 2 until next March 25, coinciding with the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

She pointed out that the main objective of the exhibition is to show the message that Al Jazeera network has succeeded in conveying to the world, and to confirm that it has been able to change the Arab world and its global view, as Al Jazeera was and is still the ray that shines on the truth to illuminate it and make it clear to the eye.

Al-Hadfi added that the contents of the exhibition include the story of the channel's emergence since 1996 and the years of its development that followed its establishment, to the digital world, in addition to human stories, investigative journalism and historical documents that distinguish Al Jazeera from others.

She pointed out that, after the end of the World Cup, Al Jazeera Center for Studies will organize discussion sessions at the exhibition, which will focus on presenting files from Al Jazeera Documentary Arabic and English, through a display screen in the exhibition, in addition to organizing workshops and school trips for school students in cooperation with the Qatar Museums Authority.

She explained that the exhibition includes interactive sections that help the public learn about the finer details of the network's work, such as the studio experience, which enables visitors to experience the atmosphere of television broadcasting and learn about the scenes of the work and what happens during filming, and the Virtual Island section, in which production techniques using virtual and augmented reality are used. .

Coordination with Qatar Museums Authority

For her part, Anaguim Zayani, Director of Museum Management at Qatar Museums Authority and curator of the exhibition "Discover the Island", said that the exhibition is the first cooperation between the authority and the Al Jazeera Media Network, expressing her hope that it will attract many visitors, especially since it coincides with the organization of the World Cup and the arrival of thousands of visitors. for the State of Qatar.

She added - in a statement to Al-Jazeera Net - that the exhibition aims to introduce the history of Al-Jazeera, by taking a step back, to tell the full story of Al-Jazeera since its inception in 1996 until today.

She explained that the exhibition includes digital holdings that include documentaries and news coverage that embody Al Jazeera's message in conveying opinion and the other opinion, in addition to technological innovations in documentary storytelling, augmented reality and virtual reality, which will have a positive impact on visitors in learning new things about the Al Jazeera network and its sections.

Zayani added that the exhibition includes tools and clothes for some of the martyrs who paid their lives for the profession of journalism and the search for the truth, as it includes the helmet of the late journalist Tariq Ayoub, who was martyred in 2003 as a result of the bombing of Al Jazeera's office in Baghdad, as well as a jacket and helmet similar to what the late journalist Sherine Abu Akleh was wearing. Al-Jazeera correspondent, who was assassinated in Jenin last May.

She indicated that Qatar Museums Authority will organize a number of field visits for school and university students, to get acquainted with the exhibition and get closer to the experience of Al Jazeera Media Network.
