She added that there are family causes for addiction, such as the absence of family control and communication within the family, family pressures, family disintegration and the accompanying violence and instability, all of which are factors that may lead a person to resort to narcotics, and there are educational problems within the family interaction, and psychological factors such as feelings of failure and inability or Efficiency to adapt to the existing reality and resort to drugs to escape from problems.

Al-Maamari confirmed that the family that has an addicted person has an important role in treatment, as it is the incubator for him and understands the reality in it, which helps him to complete the treatment program, noting that the National Rehabilitation Center is trying to involve the family in the patient’s treatment program, so that he has a bond and support, and from It is important for the family to have an understanding of the sick condition and the challenges the patient is going through, his journey to recovery, how to succeed, embrace him, and provide him with psychological support at all stages of treatment, and that after the end of his treatment program he will return to his family and if the family does not absorb him, he will return to the path of addiction again.

Al-Maamari stated that international studies indicate that the presence of the family, its influence, and its participation in treatment have great and double positive results, in understanding the patient’s condition and the challenges the patient is going through, and his journey to recovery, how to succeed, embrace him, and provide psychological support for all treatment stages related to preserving this son and not returning. to the path of addiction.

There is a study recently prepared by the National Rehabilitation Center, which was published in a scientific journal on the impact of family participation in treatment, and among the results that were reached is that the patient’s completion rates for the treatment program in the presence of the family are three times more than the family’s non-participation in treatment, and the study was implemented on a group of patients who underwent treatment on an outpatient basis.

She indicated that the center applies treatment programs that have been approved on scientific grounds, where in the first stage the patient is received in the first stages and the patient's health condition is assessed by a specialized treatment team, in the outpatient clinic, and according to the results of this evaluation, the treatment plan is determined and transferred to the internal departments for follow-up treatment programme.

There are various programs such as the detoxification program for the patient’s body, ranging from approximately one to two weeks, depending on the patient, and the relapse prevention program, lasting 16 weeks, consisting of group or individual treatment sessions if necessary, programs for developing life skills, dealing with stress, coping with society, and a social support program. .

She emphasized that the center provides assistance to the patient so that he can end the state of abuse and the accompanying behaviors and achieve a healthier approach for patients and continuity of recovery.
