Khalifa Al Tunaiji, revealed that the number of beneficiaries of housing support decisions for the two categories of grants and loans in various cities of the Emirate of Sharjah during the current year 2022 reached 1,047 housing subsidies, with a total value of up to 727 million dirhams, pointing out that the target is to reach the end of the year. year to provide housing support worth one billion dirhams.
Al Tunaiji said in an interview with "Emirates Today", "The program's efforts contributed to reaching 10,059 beneficiaries of housing support during the past 10 years, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to accelerate the pace of Housing support.
He added that the Department of Housing has mobilized, since its establishment, all its energies in order to meet the housing needs provided to the citizens of the emirate, and has carried out multiple projects in various cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.
He explained that the program plans include all support packages provided to citizens in various cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, and offers multiple options that serve the segments of society applying for housing support, such as new construction and completion services, addition and maintenance, obtaining ready government housing within residential complexes, and establishing housing units for families. is growing.
He stated that the program provides housing support in the form of loans and grants, and if the monthly income of the beneficiary is 25 thousand dirhams or more, it is classified in the category of loans, where the value of the housing support is disbursed to the contractor according to approved payment certificates, and it is recovered from the beneficiary in the form of monthly installments without interest. If the monthly income is less than 25 thousand dirhams, it is classified in the grant category, and the value of the housing support is not refunded, and is paid according to the contractor's payment certificates.
