According to the deputy, this initiative is relevant from the point of view of import substitution, since the training of specialists in the field of information technology is necessary.

However, the interlocutor of RT drew attention to the fact that the school curriculum is already overloaded, and there are not enough teachers.

“It will be especially difficult to find teachers with such competencies.

Yes, and there are children who simply cannot understand the programming language, ”said Lantratova.

She added that the programming language should be taught only as a profile.

“As a subject of additional education, but not as mandatory for everyone.

This should be done by children who have the appropriate ability and desire to do programming.

And before changing anything, we first need to discuss this proposal with the parent and pedagogical community - how much, in their opinion, do children need this profile, ”concluded the parliamentarian.

Earlier, the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Pavel Krupnik proposed to revise the school course of computer science and supplement it with the study of programming languages for all educational institutions.

According to him, the introduction of such innovations will have a positive impact on the teaching staff, which will "get new competencies and knowledge in technology and pedagogy."
