According to The Daily Mail, Hannah Debenham from Uckfield sheltered a woman with a child as part of a state program to help Ukraine.

Some time later, a Ukrainian woman went to the police with accusations that she was used as a slave and a nanny for children “for little or no payment under the guise of a scheme for Ukrainian refugees.”

National Health Service (NHS) mental health specialist Debenham notes that under the terms of the program, the refugee had two to three days a week for 200 pounds to perform babysitting duties.

At first everything went well, but then discord began "due to cultural differences."

The guest eventually stopped cleaning up after herself, and the last straw was the case when the nanny suggested that her boss's son go to the toilet near the playground on the street, although the house was a two-minute walk away.

After this incident, the British woman asked the refugee to look for new housing.

“Now when I see the Ukrainian flag in this country, I can’t help but feel angry at people who have no gratitude, no care, no respect for people like me, who naively thought that they could make this world a better place, if you help them by inviting them to live with you, ”the newspaper quotes Debenham as saying.

As The Guardian newspaper previously reported, 50,000 Ukrainian refugees in 2023 may be left homeless in Britain.

Later it became known that the program "Houses for Ukraine", intended for Ukrainian refugees, is gradually being phased out in the UK.
