A 25-year-old man died in a scooter accident on Friday in Beauvais, hitting two vehicles as he tried to escape the police, we learned from the prosecution.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the young man arrived at Kennedy Park, "trying to see if he was still being pursued, looked back, and, moving to the left lane, hit a first then a second private vehicle which arrived on the opposite lane".
Supported by the Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service (Smur), he was declared dead at 3:43 p.m., details the prosecutor.
Born in 1997, the young man was "unfavorably known" to justice.
He was serving a twelve-month prison sentence, in particular for traffic offences, violence and insults to a person holding public authority, as a repeat offense, a sentence arranged “in the form of a semi-freedom measure”.
