The strategy states that "a safe, secure and effective nuclear arsenal" is a weapon against the large intercontinental missiles wielded by China and Russia.

At the same time, the United States intends to rely on anti-missile defense in countering the DPRK.

“As the scope and complexity of North Korean missile capabilities grows, the United States will remain ahead of the curve … with a comprehensive missile strike approach coupled with a credible threat of nuclear and non-nuclear direct costs,” the document says.

Earlier, the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, said that Russia poses an acute threat to the United States, this is recorded in the American defense strategy.
