The PFAS group strengthened by new research results weeks before the trial

The research results come just days before the harmfulness of PFAS is once again the subject of a lawsuit.

In April 2021, the case was settled between approximately 160 Kallinge residents, the so-called PFAS group, and Ronneby Miljöteknik.

The district court ruled in favor of the PFAS group, but Ronneby municipality appealed.

On the eighth of November, the case will appear in the Court of Appeal in Malmö.

The longer time goes by, the more knowledge about PFAS emerges that substantiates the Kallinge residents' complaint, says the PFAS group's chairman, Herman Afzelius.

- It is a report that strengthens our case - that it is a harm in itself to have these chemicals in the body, he tells SVT.

Curious about the outcome

Miljöteknik's CEO Peter Berglin is positive that the case will soon be decided in the Court of Appeal.

- We are very interested in getting this trial done, also in a very new field within tort law.
