The new Iraqi government wins the confidence of Parliament

The new government in Iraq headed by Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani obtained the confidence of Parliament on Thursday by an absolute majority, according to an official statement issued by the new Prime Minister’s office, in a last step before his ministerial team officially assumed their duties.

The statement stated that "the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani wins the confidence of the House of Representatives", after voting on the ministerial program and then on 21 ministers by show of hands inside the parliament hall in the capital, and appointing Hayan Abdul Ghani as Minister of Oil.
