A prophet to illuminate the Champs-Elysées.

Actor Tahar Rahim, revealed by Jacques Audiard's film in 2009, is the godfather of the 2022 illuminations of the most beautiful avenue in the world.

He succeeds Clara Luciani, godmother 2021, Karl Lagerfeld, Louane, Diane Kruger or Jean Dujardin.

It is he who will have the honor on Sunday, November 20 to press the switch that will illuminate the Champs-Elysées in the colors of Christmas.

For the occasion, the avenue will be pedestrianized.

In this year of energy sobriety, the Champs-Elysées Committee has reduced the period of illuminations by one week, until Sunday January 2, 2023. The lights will go out "at 11.45 p.m., i.e. 2.15 a.m. earlier than in previous years" , indicated the committee on September 20, except for the nights of December 24 and 31.

The scenography of the illuminations changes this year with different sparkles according to the schedules.

In addition, the illuminations have changed partners, Sephora, which has a flagship of more than 1,000 m2 on the avenue, takes over from Ferrero.
