- I've been a cartoon character before, but now if there are millions of people in the world playing me - it's breathtaking, says Dick Harrison.

In the new version, he exists as an avatar that will teach the players about Uppåkra and its history and guide them through the excavations and building missions that are the core of the game.

- The knowledge that this never ends, that history can constantly be unearthed and re-evaluated - it is a curiosity that children have perhaps more than adults.

Therefore, it is an optimal way to raise interest in Upkåkra.

Build your own versions

Right now, Lund University is excavating the large hall that once existed in Uppåkra.

While this is going on, those playing the game will be able to build their own version of what they imagine the hall looked like.

- Then when the excavation is finished, there will be a lot of great ideas about what this place actually looked like, says Karin Nilsson from the Uppåkra Archaeological Center Foundation.

She also has her own avatar in the game.

- It's not easy to act cool in front of your children, but when I told them, they got completely excited.
