, and as a result of the food control program in the market, has learned of the presence of

Salmonella

in beef burgers of the brand ' Harburdehesa' with expiration date 02/12/2022.

The immobilization and withdrawal from the market affects batch 300995, a pack of two 130-gram units and a pack of two 200-gram units, of the brand

'Burger Meat Hamburdehesa'

Novilla de la dehesa, as reported by the Board in a statement.

In Andalusia, the product has been distributed in the provinces of Cádiz, Seville, Huelva and Málaga in

Maxico

, El Jamón and Cash Lepe establishments, as well as in

Carrefour

chain stores in all the Andalusian provinces except Jaén.

It has also been distributed to the Community of Madrid and the autonomous city of Ceuta, although other redistributions are not ruled out.

This information has been transferred to the competent authorities of the autonomous and state communities through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (Sciri) in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels.

With the information available, there is no record in Spain of any reported case associated with this alert.

People who have the specific product and batch included in this alert at home are recommended to refrain from consuming them and return them to the point of purchase where they were purchased.

The

Board

has recalled that this type of product (prepared meat) is not "ready-to-eat food" requiring adequate prior heat treatment, as indicated on its label.

The presence of Salmonella in products can pose certain health risks to people who consume them, with young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems being the groups most at risk.

In the case of having consumed this product and presenting any symptomatology compatible with salmonellosis (mainly diarrhea and/or vomiting, abdominal cramps, accompanied by fever and headache, in an average period between 12 and 72 hours after consumption) it is recommended to go to a health center.
