“The United States expresses its condolences to the family of a US citizen killed in action in Ukraine, whose remains have now been identified.

They will soon be returned to the family,” the diplomat said in a statement.

He thanked Ukraine for helping to "negotiate with Russia" on the return of the remains of a US citizen. 

The identity of the deceased has not been released.

In October, CNN, citing the US Department of State, reported that an American infantryman from Idaho, Dane Patridge, was mortally wounded in a shootout in the NWO zone.

In August, the US State Department confirmed the death of an American citizen in Ukraine.
