Prince

Harry

and Prince

Andrew

will not appear alongside the Queen at the Buckingham Palace balcony at the opening of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, which marks 70 years of Elizabeth II's reign.

Palace sources told the

BBC

that only "members of the royal family who perform public duties on behalf of the Queen" and their children will be admitted to the balcony.

The definition excludes Harry and his wife

Meghan

who have renounced their royal status, but also the third son of the Queen, Prince

Andrew,

excluded from any public role after the scandal of alleged sexual relations with a minor for which he has negotiated compensation.

Prince Andrew excluded from the balcony for the recent scandal

On the balcony from which the 96-year-old queen will look out on

June 2

for the traditional birthday parade of

"Trooping the colors"

, there will be the other three children of Elisabetta: Carlo, Anna and Edoardo, with their spouses.

And of course there will be William and Kate with their three children.

Also present were the sons of Edoardo.

No other British

monarch

has reigned 70 years.

The Jubilee foresees great celebrations between 2 and 5 June, but only at the last will it be announced who will be present Elizabeth II, whose health has become more fragile.

While Harry and Andrea will not be on the iconic

Buckingham Palace

balcony with their families, their presence is not excluded for now by other events such as the thanksgiving mass at St Paul's Cathedral or some lunches.

Although, at the moment, it is not even clear if Harry and Meghan will come to Britain for the Jubilee.
