Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Abdollahian received a written message from Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, related to the latest developments in the region and the ongoing efforts to bring Iran closer together.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry indicated that the message also included the bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to support and develop them.

The Foreign Ministry said, in a tweet on Twitter, that the message was delivered by Muhammad bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Khulaifi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Regional Affairs, during his meeting today in Tehran with the Iranian Foreign Minister.

Al-Khulaifi met with the chief Iranian negotiator, Ali Bagheri, and the two sides discussed the latest developments in the region and bilateral relations between Doha and Tehran.

Bagheri stressed that the Iranian government's policy is to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

Iranian media quoted the Qatari assistant foreign minister as confirming Qatar's desire to cooperate on issues of common regional and international interest and to strengthen bilateral relations.
