The police intervened against the 54-year-old man at his car along a county road near Byholma during the day.
He turned out to be a suspect in a murder in Germany.
- I am dealing with the issue of the extradition request and he is being questioned today (Wednesday).
As far as I understand, he will agree to be handed over, says prosecutor Anna Broomé at the National Unit against International and Organized Crime to the newspaper.
The European arrest warrant is issued by a court in Hanover.
The suspect has been detained by Växjö district court pending transport to Germany.
