The economic forecast shows a decline of ten percent for the country as a whole, but there are large regional differences.

Above all, it is housing construction that, according to the forecast, will decrease in 2023.

- This affects regions where the new production of housing is a large part of the total market - such as Stockholm, Uppsala, Gothenburg, Linköping and Malmö, says Emil Flodin, analyst, Byggföretagen in a comment.

No increase in notice yet

In Jönköping County, the forecast shows a decline in 2022 of four percent and for the next year of nine percent.

Has the number of notices and bankruptcies among your companies in the county increased?

- No, we haven't seen that yet, says Mia Adelöf.

According to the forecast, the strongest construction market in the country will be in northern Sweden during the next year.

The reason is partly that the decline in housing construction is not predicted to be as strong there and partly due to the large industrial investments that are being made in Norrbotten in particular.

According to Byggföretagen, construction investments in the country next year will amount to a total of SEK 547 billion.

In 2021, that figure was close to SEK 600 billion.

In the clip, Mia Adelöf explains what consequences the decline in construction investment can have.
