Sudan Doctors Committee: One dead in demonstrations in Omdurman

A statement by the Sudanese Doctors Committee said that a person was killed in demonstrations today, Tuesday, in the city of Omdurman, after he was run over by a vehicle of the security forces.

Thousands of protesters marched towards the presidential palace in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, to demand civilian rule, and "Reuters" reported that the demonstrators set up barricades to slow the progress of the security forces, which, for their part, closed all bridges linking the two banks of the Nile in the Sudanese capital to prevent protesters from reaching the palace.
