Russia's Permanent Representative Ulyanov criticized Macron for his statement about the Russian Orthodox Church

According to RIA Novosti, earlier Macron, during a speech in Rome, said that the Russian authorities were using the leadership of the Orthodox Church to justify their own policies.

“The President of France spoke about the role of Orthodoxy in Russia.

A very bold and inappropriate statement... European leaders are advised not to touch on this sensitive topic unless they want to appear ridiculous and arrogant,” Ulyanov wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, the Kremlin said that the reduction in contacts between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leadership of France and Germany is due to the fact that Macron and Scholz have no desire to listen to Moscow's position and to mediate efforts in the situation around Ukraine.
