This is the ancient city of Liangzhu, known as the "first city in China". Its history can be traced back to about 5,000 years ago, and it was in the same historical period as the ancient Egyptian civilization and Sumerian civilization.

　　The ruins of Liangzhu Ancient City are located in Yuhang District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. In 2019, it was approved to be included in the World Heritage List.

　　The site area of ​​Liangzhu Ancient City is composed of palace area, inner city and outer city.

The inner city is surrounded by a circle of city walls about 1,700 meters long from east to west and 1,900 meters long from north to south, with a total area of ​​about 3 square kilometers, equivalent to 4 Forbidden City in Beijing.

　　A large-scale water conservancy system was discovered outside the ancient city of Liangzhu. It made use of the original mountains and buttes, and built 11 dams to store 13 square kilometers of water surface. The total storage capacity is about 46 million cubic meters, which is 1.5 times that of Hangzhou West Lake and 4 times, with many functions such as flood control, irrigation, transportation and so on.

This water conservancy system is the earliest large-scale water conservancy project in China and the earliest flood-damping dam project discovered in the world.

　　In addition to agriculture, Liangzhu handicrafts are also quite developed.

"God, human and animal face pattern" is a complex and symmetrical pattern, which is widely seen on the jade unearthed here. It is regarded as the symbol of Liangzhu culture and shows the superb carving skills of Liangzhu ancestors.

　　Today, Liangzhu culture is being reproduced through activities such as "Cloud Exhibition", "Cloud Spring Tour" and "Night Tour to the Museum". Workers continue to use modern science and technology and innovative cultural creativity to rejuvenate the ancient Liangzhu culture.
