The escape of

Avni Mecja

is over , the man wanted because he was

suspected of killing his wife

Alexandra Elena Mocanu, the 35-year-old barmaid of Romanian origins who yesterday afternoon was found lifeless in her apartment in Viale Trieste 42 in Bolzano.

From what we learn, Mecja presented himself at the Prosecutor's Office in the South Tyrolean capital at the disposal of the judiciary.

The man would have surrendered voluntarily.

49 years old, originally from Albania, yesterday he fled to his native country starting from Treviso airport but today he returned to South Tyrol to present himself to the South Tyrolean investigators.

The victim Alexandra, 35, had been living in the South Tyrolean capital for some years, where he worked as a bartender, he worked in the construction sector.

The alarm went off yesterday in the late afternoon after a report from Mecja's relatives.

The man during a phone call would have announced that he had to escape because he was wanted, but at a certain point he came back.

The couple had moved from Verona to Bolzano some time ago, for about two years they had lived on the fifth floor of the building in Viale Trieste 42 in Bolzano.

A somewhat anonymous condominium, as found in many Italian cities, in a quiet neighborhood.

The couple occupied an apartment on the fifth floor of the building overlooking the public swimming pool "Lido", a stone's throw from the historic center and the confluence of the Talvera and Isarco rivers.

A shared Facebook profile with photos of the couple and other romantic images.

The last post, a selfie on the terrace of a fast food restaurant in a shopping center in Bolzano, just a few days ago.

This is the image that Avni and Alexandra presented on social media, very different from the one described by the neighbors.

"We heard them arguing often. From their apartment we heard frequent loud arguments between the two of them and this also happened on Saturday evening, until about 10.30 pm, then we heard drawers slamming and then nothing more. Silence until Sunday, when it is the police arrived with the fire brigade to enter the apartment ", they say.

The autopsy will help shed some light on what happened Saturday night in that apartment.

The victim appears to have been hit hard, possibly with a blunt object.

The corpse was then wrapped in a blanket.

Last night, the forensic and prosecutor Claudia Andres, who coordinates the investigation, also intervened on the spot.

The investigators maintain maximum confidentiality on the progress of the investigation.
