The CGT strikers at the Feyzin refinery in the Rhône demanded Monday the intervention of a "mediator of the Republic" for a "real negotiation" with the management.

The CGT strikers at the TotalEnergies refinery in Feyzin in the Rhône demanded on Monday the intervention of a "mediator of the Republic" for a "real negotiation" with the management, who however replied that it was "over" after the October 14 agreement.

"The management of TotalEnergies alone has the power to unblock the situation, but no longer wishes to discuss with the strikers. Faced with the inaction of the management (...), the strikers are asking the government to appoint a mediator from the Republic, to open a real negotiation and initiate the beginning of social dialogue", declared to the press Pedro Afonso, CGT delegate of the only TotalEnergies refinery still affected by the strike with that of Gonfreville (Seine-Maritime).

TotalEnergies calls for an end to the strike

"The employees remain determined to obtain their legitimate demands. The hirings that the strikers are demanding" are only intended to compensate for "the missing positions, in accordance with our agreements in force which set a minimum number of employees", added the union official, noting 90% of strikers in the refinery shipping department (about 100 people).
