They were attacked by a dog in the forest: "The intestines were hanging out of her stomach"

The dog caught the female Bubblan and also the male Gustav.

- When I finally got hold of Bubblan, her intestines were hanging out of her stomach.

I thought that 'she is dying here and now', says Åsa Martinsson.

After a while, the owner came and managed to leash the attacking dog.

The dogs Drutten and Lill-Strumpan managed without physical injuries, but have become worried after the incident.

Åsa herself was also bitten on the face and hand, as was her partner Olle.

- It hurts, but it's nothing compared to the worry I feel for my dogs, she says.

Admitted to Växjö animal hospital

With her dog Bubblan inside her jacket, she called the police, who then drove her to Växjö animal hospital with Bubblan and Gustav.

They are still hospitalized.

- They are given painkillers and tube-fed.

It feels terrible not being able to help them, says Åsa Martinsson.

The police classify the incident as a violation of the law on supervision of dogs and causing bodily harm.

Since Saturday, the owner has contacted Åsa Martinsson and the whole thing is now an insurance matter.

But it is still unclear whether Bubblan and Gustav will survive.

- They are like our family members.

They are missing here at home, says Åsa Martinsson.
