Sad epilogue.

The lifeless body of Erwan Martin, a 20-year-old fisherman who had been missing for more than a week, was found in the rocks on Monday near the town of Plougasnou in the bay of Morlaix (Finistère).

It was an amateur diver who was taking part in the research who made the macabre discovery this Monday noon and alerted the emergency services.

“We would like to thank all the people who mobilized for the research from near or far,” wrote the relatives of the young man on social networks.

Personal items found during the week

Gone fishing on Sunday, October 16, the young Morlaisien had not been heard from since.

Significant resources had immediately been committed on land and at sea to try to find him and a call for witnesses had been launched by the gendarmerie.

During the week, several of his personal items had been discovered, including his bag, his knife and his hook box.

The family and relatives of the young man then took over in the search, criss-crossing the coast in search of the slightest clue.

According to

Le Télégramme

, an autopsy of the young man's body must be performed in the next few hours at the Brest forensic institute to determine the causes of death.
