On the eve of the trial, former agent

Alexander Kueng

- unlike his colleague

Tou Thao

- changed his position and pleaded guilty to his involvement in the killing of African American

George Floyd

, who died in 2020 after a another policeman,

Derek Chauvin

, kept his knee pressed to his neck for about ten minutes.

In exchange for his admission, Kueng will see charges dropped that he aided and abetted Chauvin in killing Floyd.

The policeman will still have to serve at least two thirds of the

42-month sentence.

He and Thao kept the African American's body pinned to the ground, doing nothing to prevent suffocation.
