American comedian

Leslie Jordan

, known for his work on the “

Will & Grace

” series,

has died at the age of 67

.

Jordan, as reported by the "

Los Angeles Times

", was involved in a car accident in Hollywood this morning.

The actor was behind the wheel of his car when, perhaps due to an illness, he crashed into a building.

A dynamic that recalls the accident in which Anne Heche

was involved

, the actress who died last August 12 in Beverly Hills after being left in a coma after having her car crashed into a house.

A long and rich career, that of Jordan, which includes roles in "

American Horror Story

", "The Help" and "Call Me Cat", currently in its third season on Fox.

In 2006 Jordan

won an Emmy as

guest actor

in "

Will

& Grace," in which he played the role of Beverly Leslie, Karen's sexually ambiguous friend-enemy, one of the stars of the series.

And from his partners in "Will & Grace" came the first reactions to the news of Jordan's death;

actors

McCormac

(Will) and

Hayes

(Jack)

they entrusted their memories to Twitter.

I am crushed by the news of the death of Leslie Jordan, the funniest and most flirtatious southern gentleman I have ever met.

The joy and fun he brought to each of us in his episodes of Will & Grace were real.

You left too soon, at least thirty years early.

We loved you, sweet man

I have a broken heart.

Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I have had the pleasure of working with.

Everyone who knew him loved him.

There will never be anyone like him.

A unique talent with a big and loving heart.

We will miss you, my friend
