Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, the grand festive activities organized by the governments of the United Arab Emirates and Egypt will start tomorrow in Cairo, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Emirati-Egyptian relations, under the title “The UAE and Egypt are one heart.” “With the aim of strengthening ties and solid relations that span more than five decades, and forging a more cooperative and accomplished future between the two countries in various vital fields and sectors.

Minister of Cabinet Affairs Muhammad Al-Gergawi stressed that the celebration reflects the strength of the Emirati-Egyptian relations, and is a qualitative step towards strengthening cooperation in all fields, based on the keenness of the leaderships of the two countries to accelerate and expand cooperation to include various vital sectors.

Al Gergawi said: "His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brother, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, are leading the march of distinguished relations between the two countries to a new stage of partnership and cooperation."

He added, "What brings us together with Egypt is a lot.. It is Zayed's will.. and the land of civilization.. and joint Arab action.. The goal is to launch more cooperative and partnership relations with the Arab world to achieve common interests."

He explained that "more than 20 sessions bring together ministers of the government of the UAE and Egypt, officials in the economy, culture, media and the private sector are meeting to celebrate five decades of distinguished relations and promote them to broader and more comprehensive horizons."

Regarding the objectives of the event and the importance of holding it, Al Gergawi indicated that the “UAE, Egypt and One Heart” activities will bring together a group of ministers, officials, businessmen and decision makers, with the aim of developing new ways and prospects for cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, trade, media and culture, in order to meet the requirements of the current stage with the changes it is witnessing. Many require further development of cooperation modalities and mechanisms.

He continued, "The agenda of the sessions includes an opening speech by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, in addition to a presentation of the success stories of a number of Emirati and Egyptian companies, and honoring a group of the first Egyptian media, intellectuals and athletes in the UAE."

The events, which are organized over three days, will open with sessions in which a group of ministers, officials, businessmen, and pioneers of thought, culture and media will participate in the framework of continuing to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries.

Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly will also deliver a keynote speech on the reality and future of relations between the two peoples, while the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, will address Arab-Arab relations, based on the Emirati-Egyptian model.

The agenda of events on its first and second days includes a keynote speech by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Muhammad Al Gergawi on the Emirati-Egyptian relationship and the historical importance of Egypt, in addition to a session by Sultan Bin Sulayem reviewing the Sokhna port project and DP World's investments in the Egyptian market.

Hashem Al-Qassem, Hisham Okasha and Muhammad Al-Etrebi also deal with the issue of sustainability in the banking sector and the Emirati-Egyptian experiences.

The agenda also includes a review of the story of 15 years of experiences and successes for Etisalat Misr, presented by the CEO of Etisalat Misr, Hazem Metwally.

The events will witness the presence and participation of an Emirati delegation that includes the country's first graduates from Egyptian universities, as they will talk about their academic experience and memories with the Egyptian people.

The celebration will witness the organization of an event at the end of the first day on the "Umm Kulthum in Abu Dhabi" concert, which the artist performed in 1971 in Abu Dhabi.

A session entitled "Sustainability in the Banking Sector... Emirati and Egyptian Experiences" will also be held on the role of banks in supporting banking and monetary systems within the flexible economic environment that the two countries seek to continue developing to be one of the engines of growth.

The Diplomatic Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, Dr. Anwar Gargash, will open the activities of the second day, as he discusses the Emirati-Egyptian political relations and their role in building Arab strategic depth, in addition to a key session by the Minister of Culture and Youth Noura Al Kaabi, in which she discusses the reality of cultural exchange between the two countries and is shared by the Minister of Culture Egyptian Neven Kilani.

During a session entitled “Egypt.. the beginning of knowledge.. the beginning of the road,” Minister of State Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi and Minister of State Khalifa bin Shaheen Al Marar recall their memories during the study phase in Egypt, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation reviews, Mohamed Al-Murr, the history of cultural cooperation between Egypt and the UAE over 50 years of relations.

The cultural forum will also witness discussions on cultural, media and sports relations between the two countries, within more than 10 sessions, dealing with the Egyptian-Emirati model and how the two countries have led many strategic files in the region.

The agenda includes a paragraph about Sheikh Zayed in the Egyptian media, and the activities of the second day continue with the session “Arab media cooperation … the UAE and Egypt as a model”, which deals with the reality of the media sector in the two countries and how to develop new mechanisms and paths to enhance cooperation between them by discovering opportunities for development and new spaces for innovation.
