A dignified and moving tribute took place this Monday in the city of Lillers on the occasion of the funeral of little Lola, killed on October 14 in Paris.

At the request of the family, the ceremony was open to the public.

Hundreds of residents were present to say goodbye to the 12-year-old schoolgirl.

It is a day of mourning for the city of Lillers in Pas-de-Calais.

In this town of 10,000 inhabitants, the funeral took place this afternoon for Lola, 12, killed in appalling circumstances in Paris on October 14.

According to the parents' wishes, the ceremony in the Saint-Omer collegiate church was open to the public.

Strong emotion of his brothers

On the small square of the collegiate where the Ave Maria resounded, hundreds of faces displayed a serious, closed look.

In the religious building, 500 people attended the ceremony and 150 others were present outside.

During the funeral, Lola's mother accompanied the white coffin where her daughter rests.

"My beloved little sister, unfortunately you left much too soon and I couldn't tell you how much I loved you", sobbed one of his brothers, during the ceremony, as he was speaking.

"I hope I have been present enough for you in your life, even if I have the impression that we could not do anything together, it went so quickly", he regretted .

"You were the youngest, whom everyone liked to tease," also testified a close family member.

"Why this evil? What is this barbaric world that sleeps so close to us?", Supported the bishop of the ceremony, in front of the hundreds of people present in the religious building.  

"It's too late"

"It touched us", explained, at the exit of the church, Marc.

"How sad that his brother was never able to say 'I love you' to him (note: to Lola). And now it's too late," he added, his voice trembling.

After the departure of the public, last moment of contemplation for the family of Lola.

The little girl's coffin was then placed alongside those of her maternal grandparents, where it will now remain for eternity.
