It is the police in Mölndal who have issued a warning on social media after they noticed that young people in particular are picking the top smooth skiving mushroom.

A psychedelic and poisonous mushroom that affects the nervous system and can produce effects such as confusion, hallucinations and palpitations.

Young people use the mushroom for intoxicating purposes, despite the fact that it is both poisonous and illegal to pick.

"We take a serious view of the mushroom being picked and used, especially by young people, as it is directly inappropriate, illegal and dangerous," the police write.

The expert: "No food fungus"

Dan Lundberg has spent his entire life in the forest and knows over 3,000 mushroom species by heart.

According to him, the mushroom has an LSD-like effect, and when he teaches about mushrooms, he is careful to point out that the mushroom is not an edible mushroom.

He makes an analogy with driving a car, that "you don't just get behind the wheel without having read and practiced a little before".

- As a beginner, you should focus on a small number of species and learn them by heart and avoid the small mushrooms.

Feel free to bring a mushroom encyclopedia out, says Dan Lundberg.
