The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, condemned, on Saturday, the terrorist attack carried out by the Houthi militia with two booby-trapped drones targeting the Al-Dabba oil port in Hadramout while a ship was docked for shipping crude oil in the port.

The Secretary-General stressed during a phone call on Saturday with Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak that this attack is a flagrant violation of Security Council Resolution No. 2216, a violation of international laws and norms, and a threat to civil and economic facilities and global energy supplies and corridors, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards such attacks. Based on international law to ensure that it is not repeated in a manner that preserves the movement of trade and oil supplies, as well as preserves security and stability in the region.

Al-Hajraf stressed that this attack is an escalation of the terrorist Houthi militia after the end of the UN truce in Yemen, which the militia refused to extend and expand despite all the efforts that were made, and the Yemeni legitimate government was keen to provide all facilities to extend it based on its responsibilities towards the Yemeni people.

He affirmed the firm position of the Gulf Cooperation Council in supporting everything that guarantees the security and stability of Yemen, and supporting the efforts of the legitimate Yemeni government, and the efforts of the United Nations to extend the armistice and cease-fire in Yemen and to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
