Without BMW, Lamborghini or Jaguar, the Mondial de l'Auto presents French and Chinese groups in majesty, asking questions about its future, in Paris, until Sunday, October 23.

Every other year, the event has long marked the month of October at the Porte de Versailles, bringing together a million car enthusiasts for two weeks.

But after a cancellation in March 2020 due to a pandemic, and in a complicated context for the automotive industry, the Mondial has reduced its sails.

The organizers are aiming for between 300,000 and 400,000 visitors this year, over just one week.

A short walk, in pictures, on the stands of electric cars, concept cars, or sports cars...

  • After four years of absence, the Paris Motor Show is back in Paris from October 17 to 23, 2022.

  • Chinese manufacturers, present in force at the Paris Motor Show, have unveiled vehicles intended for the European market, on which they project more and more ambitions.

  • BYD, Great Wall Motors, Seres, Ora, Wey… The big names in the Chinese car industry all met at the show.

  • Present mainly in northern Europe for the moment (Scandinavia, Belgium, the Netherlands, etc.), BYD, which presents three models in Paris, two of which are "top of the range" (Han and Tang, both at more than 70,000 euros ), wants to establish itself everywhere on the continent.

  • Emmanuel Macron announced on Sunday a series of new boosts to the purchase of electric cars, on the eve of the opening of the Paris Motor Show.

The "ecological bonus" will be increased from 6,000 to 7,000 euros for half of households buying an electric car, announced the President of the Republic in an interview with the daily

    Les Echos

    on Monday.

  • This bonus is valid for vehicles sold for less than 47,000 euros, either compact electrics or SUVs, such as the Renault Mégane or the Peugeot e-2008, but not a Tesla.

  • But the Paris Motor Show is also an opportunity to admire the new concept cars!

  • Like the Dacia Manifesto SUV.

  • The concept car is not marketed but it is a way of presenting the innovations of a car brand.

  • Doubtful about the switch to electric, Alpine wants to burn hydrogen to power its sports cars, as shown by a prototype presented here.

  • The Renault group's sports brand is exhibiting the "Alpenglow" concept on its stand.

  • A stand where you can also admire the F1 A522.

  • The Stellantis group will produce "shortly" 12 electric vehicles in France, against six currently, CEO Carlos Tavares announced on Monday.

The Peugeot 308, 308 break and 408 electric will be produced in particular in Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin), said Mr. Tavares alongside Emmanuel Macron, who visited the Peugeot stand.

  • But Peugeot is also the 9X8 sports car programmed for endurance racing on circuits.

  • At Lamborghini, you can admire a 1:1 scale Lego replica of the Sián FKP 37 model.

  • But the car is also surfing on vintage fashion with the Méhari series from Citroën!

  • While respecting the Highway Code!
