• PGE PP and Vox announce amendment of totality and Cs and PDeCat value it after the "devastating" intervention of the president of the Airef

Pedro Sánchez has opened his appearance in the

Senate

, the second before the Legislature in just one week, promising "honesty without defeatism" in the analysis and assuring that his Government has already foreseen the scenario of energy difficulties that Vladimir's confrontation strategy anticipates Putin with an "ambitious and supportive" plan.

"We are preparing for all eventualities and Spaniards can rest easy", he assured, insisting that there will be no cut in supply "and citizens will not have restrictions on the use of gas, electricity and heating.

Sánchez on this occasion has not made any announcement.

In fact he has anticipated that he will not present all his measures to fight inflation in one fell swoop.

Quite the contrary, he has warned that they will be produced as the Government considers it necessary and circumstances advise.

Precisely this has been one of the criticisms launched today by the president of

Airef

,

Cristina Herreros

, for whom it is unacceptable to present a

State Budget project

that does not contemplate at least the eventuality of a package of measures that without a doubt will have to be adopted.

The president has assured that he is "very aware" that the Spanish are going through difficulties and has admitted that the cost of living is going to continue to be high and it will probably be necessary to face moments of slowdown.

However, he has emphasized that inflation will be corrected over the next year.

"Everything points in that direction," he has said.

He has reviewed the data that, in his opinion, demonstrates the strength of the Spanish economy and has admitted that, despite this, "there may be bumps in the road" because the outlook is "extremely uncertain".

Sánchez has warned that in these circumstances the least advisable thing is that the territories, the CCAA, enter into a

downward tax competition

.

He has thus taken care to remember that during the pandemic "collective effort" was essential to overcome it.

"Today the answer must be the same. The appropriate line is fiscal co-responsibility. That is why large companies have a moral duty to return to society what they received during the pandemic," he said.

"On this occasion the adjustment must come from income and not expenses," he assured, insisting again on the essential commitment of large fortunes and companies.

In his speech there was no lack of reproaches to the PP, a party that he has asked to abandon the "scam" theory when referring to what was achieved with the so-called "Iberian exception".

He has insisted that Spain is the fourth country in the EU in mobilizing resources to deal with the crisis resulting from the war and has recalled the nine packages of measures approved since the war broke out in Ukraine.

Sánchez has criticized the opposition, which he reproaches for trying to benefit "two percent of the population, those at the top, compared to 98% of citizens" and has had no qualms about comparing the proposals made by the PP to overcome the crisis with the failed plan put forward by British Prime Minister

Liz Truss

.

Faced with this, he has presented himself as the first defender of "the social majority" together, he has said, "the best team" and has cited his three vice presidents: Nadia Calviño, Yolanda Díaz and Teresa Ribera.
