According to the publication, a number of countries, including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, appealed to the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen with a request to introduce the ninth package of anti-Russian sanctions.

Among the requirements of European countries is a restriction on LNG imports, disconnection from the SWIFT system of most Russian banks and a ban on the transfer of dollar bills to Russia.

In addition, the initiators of the new restrictions proposed to ban Russians from selling real estate in Europe and importing diamonds from Russia.

Earlier, a TASS source in the delegation of one of the community countries in the Council of the European Union announced the discussion in the EU of the ninth package of sanctions.

On October 6, the EU approved the eighth package of restrictions against Russia.

In particular, the restrictions include a price ceiling on the sea transportation of Russian oil to third countries and further restrictions on the sea transportation of crude oil and petroleum products to third countries.
