Since 2012, girls in Sweden have been offered HPV vaccination at school.

But in the age group of women born between 1994 and 1999, too few are vaccinated for the spread of HPV to be stopped.

The background is that the Riksdag has decided to accelerate the eradication of cervical cancer.

A prerequisite is that more women in Sweden are vaccinated against HPV.

Therefore, all regions in Sweden have joined a research study where the aim is for more women under 30 to be vaccinated against HPV.

All women in the county who were born between 1994 and 1999 will have an offer of vaccination sent to them, even women who have taken the vaccine before can take it now, as the vaccine has been developed and now provides wider protection.

Anyone who chooses to be vaccinated in this initiative will also be offered a booster dose after three years.
